Meols Hall, Churchtown
Nestled in the heart of Churchtown, if you don’t t know it, it’s a beautiful little village filled with independent shops, some of them thatched, on the outskirts of Southport. We highly recommend a visit to our good friend Liz at Angels of Churchtown, who has the most beautiful little gift shop, and to Gilly from the Deli who does the best cheese and wine evenings!
Meols Hall is a beautiful 12th-century Manor House and family home set within 100 acres of private parkland. At its centre stands the Tithe Barn, a 400‑year‑old brick and timber structure lovingly restored by local craftsmen to host unforgettable weddings.
A Venue Steeped in History & Heritage
- 12th century origins: Originally granted to Robert de Coudray and later passing into the Hesketh family, Meols Hall has evolved through centuries of architectural change, with significant reconstruction in the 1960s using salvaged stone from Lathom House near to us.
- Tithe Barn restoration: The barn’s restoration balanced historical integrity with modern amenities—warm brick walls, open-beamed ceilings, central heating, sound system, and disabled access making it absolutely perfect for weddings, receptions, or corporate events.
- Exclusive use & a versatile layout: With space for up to 120 seated guests (and up to 150 for the evening ), couples can host ceremonies, dining, and dancing all in a single, gorgeous private venue. The brick walls give a lovely warm glow to the place, and a neutral background to decorate with flowers in any colour you like.
What Makes Meols Hall Weddings So Special
- Rustic, romantic interiors: The candlelit barn, with its warm brickwork and amber lighting, creates a natural, intimate ambiance enhanced beautifully with Flower Farm Floristry’s wildflower arrangements, trailing foliage, and seasonal blooms.
- Coach House & courtyard: The adjoining Coach House opens into a cobbled courtyard—perfect for welcome drinks, confetti shots, or live music.
- Stunning photos all year round: With 100 acres of lush grounds, including wildflower meadows and elegant bridges, our homegrown bouquets pop in spring and summer settings—and bring warmth to autumn and winter ceremonies.
Working with Flower Farm Floristry
At Flower Farm Floristry, we love tailoring our blooms to match the style and season of Meols Hall weddings:
- Ceremony: The end chairs along the aisle look great tied with pretty posies, complemented by seasonal flowers along the ceremony table. Larger designs like our milk churn pedestals can be placed either side of the table or to mark the large entrance doors. The window sills look amazing just with Meols Hall’s own lanterns ,surrounded by loose foliage and small jars of coordinating flowers.
- Tablescapes & centrepieces: Delicate seasonal bunches things like roses, scabious, grasses and cornflowers placed in pretty vases on each guest table, with a full tablescape of flowers sweeping around the oval top table.
- Outdoor touches: We can arrange jam jar posies in the courtyard and coordinating flowers and grass arrangements on the small Coach House tables to tie everything through..
- Coordinated details: Buttonholes and bouquets reflect our seasonal, slightly wild style as well as the beautiful, rustic countryside setting that is Meols Hall.
A review from one of our happy couples who married at Meols Hall

They were so amazing and I was so impressed how you were able to just bring exactly what I’d had in my head for the day to life! Just couldn’t have asked for more!”
